Hello Lakeshore Families,

As you know, Lakeshore has been looking for our next Assistant Principal and a commitment was made to timely communication once a candidate was selected. I am messaging you today to inform you with that announcement.

Malynda Kouperman will be our new Assistant Principal and will be starting at Lakeshore on March 10th. Many of you may know Ms. Kouperman as she is moving to our school from Joane Cardinal Schubert High School. She is an experienced leader with a student-centred approach. Her understanding of transitions between Middle School and High School will surely benefit our entire community.

Ms. Kouperman has composed the following message for our Lakeshore Families:

Hello, Lakeshore Families! I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the Lakeshore team as your new Assistant Principal! I’ve already had the pleasure of getting to know some of your older kids from my time at Joane Cardinal Schubert High School, and I can’t wait to meet all Lakeshore students and families when I start in March. I truly believe in the power of collaboration, creating a positive school culture, and supporting our students to shine their brightest every day. Over the past 3.5 years, I’ve served as an Assistant Principal at JCS, and before that, I had the wonderful opportunity to work as a Specialist in CBE School Improvement, focusing on the Student Voice portfolio. In that role, I made sure that students’ voices were heard in areas like assessment, learning, and school decisions across the district. I’ve also worked as a Learning Leader and English Language Arts Teacher at both Henry Wise Wood High School and Forest Lawn High School. When I’m not at school, I love going on adventures with my husband and two daughters, diving into a good book, practicing yoga, and listening to podcasts. I’m looking forward to meeting all of you soon at Lakeshore. Go, Bears!

We look forward to having Ms. Kouperman join our team at Lakeshore and view this a very positive move for our students, staff and families. Please welcome her to our school and look for her on March 10.

Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
Principal
