Hello Lakeshore Families,

Happy April, and welcome back from Spring Break. Hopefully everyone had a great week off. We are looking forward to having our students back to school tomorrow. Here are the updates you need to get started back at school:

Successful Conferences

Thank you to our parents who visited with us in person and online on the Thursday and Friday before break. There seemed to be a lot of positive energy emerging from the meetings, and our staff also reported the same. Effective partnerships between teachers, students, and parents are what makes everything work.

Spring Fling Fever!

The Spring Fling dance took place on the afternoon of March 21st and the students and staff had a lot of fun. The music, lights and concessions were a hit and it was a great way to head into the break. Thanks to our staff for pulling together another great community event.

Apparel Store is OPEN!

After many requests to re-open the apparel store we are happy to do so and… we now have Mama and Papa Bear wear for the proud Lakeshore parents. Please visit the store here: https://stores.inksoft.com/lakeshore_school/shop/home.

Students Supplies Refresh Time

We wanted to send a reminder to parents of students in grades 7-9 that supplies are not provided by the school. By this time of the year, many of the basics purchased at the beginning of the year are out and may need to be refreshed. The supply list is HERE. Please check with your child to see what they may need. Supplies are provided for students in grade 6.

Sport Court Rules

We are so fortunate that our School Council / Fundraising Association has provided the us with a wonderful new Sport Court. This is a multi-use site and a gift to both our school and community. In order for us to preserve the court, we would like to ask for support in following some of the usage rules:

·      Hours of use are in connection to City bylaw, which is 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM, daily

·      Please do not hang from the nets or climb the fence

·      Please do not damage the tiles – replacement tiles come at a cost to parents via fundraising

·      Please do not used metal-tipped shovels on the tiles

·      Please do not bring motorized scooters or bikes onto the surface of the court
