Hello Lakeshore Families,
Like you, I have no explanation for this weather. As we prepare to enter May it’s certainly put a damper to our Spring plans like outdoor classes, PE and athletics. Here are a few updates for you for the week ahead:

Traffic – Community Considerations
Once again we are asking Lakeshore families to be mindful of traffic and community considerations during high traffic times of drop-off and pick-up. There continues to be issues with blocking driveways, U-turns, and speeding through the playground zone. When the weather improves, there will be more kids riding and wheeling to school and we all need to do our part to ensure safety and sense of community.

2026-2027 Calendar Update
The CBE has made a small change to next year’s instructional calendar. The non-instructional day previously identified for Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, was moved to Monday, Oct. 19, 2026, to accommodate the provincial referendum that would see schools utilized as polling sites. The updated calendar is available HERE.

Bears Athletics
Touch Football
Selections for both senior and junior teams is now complete and congratulations to the athletes who will represent our school. Thanks as well to all the students who gave it their all during tryouts. Both teams will practice on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school and may be impacted by weather.

Bear Fest
Our School Council is looking for support from our Lakeshore community to help with our Bear Fest. A separate message will be coming out shortly outlining many ways to get involved. We are looking forward to another great event on June 4th.

Hot Lunch Options
Selections for the week of May 4 include Subway, Boston Pizza, Via Cibo, and Popeyes. Orders can be placed HERE.

That’s a quick update for everyone this week. We look forward to real Spring’s arrival.

Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
Principal
