Hello Lakeshore Families,
It’s been a glorious weekend weather-wise and hopefully everyone has found some time to enjoy the outdoors. We loved seeing our students back at school after Spring Break and we’re looking forward to a super spring at Lakeshore. Here are your updates for the week ahead:
Spring Apparel Store is OPEN!
Back by popular demand, our online apparel store has re-opened and features a new limited-edition design. Get your kid decked out in school swag. This will be the last chance to grab apparel before school start-up next year. Visit the store HERE.
BEAR Awards for March
Congratulations to our BEAR Award recipients for Excellence in the month of March. The list of students is available HERE. For April, we will be looking for students who demonstrate Ambition.
Yearbook Waitlist
If you missed the yearbook order and would like to get on the waitlist, please visit the site HERE to add your name. We will work with our publisher to try and accommodate your requests.
School Council Meeting
Our next School Council meeting will be Wednesday, April 16 starting at 6:00 PM at the school. All parents are welcome to attend.
Bears Athletics
Badminton
Tryouts continue all next week following the same schedule. Badminton season culminates in one tournament at the end of the season and titles are a cumulative score from all the players. Badminton players need to be 100% committed to attending this tournament. If one player is absent it affects the ability for the team to be successful. If your player has other commitments during these dates, they need to make the coach aware and decline a spot on team:
- Grade 6: May 14 & 15, 4:00- 8:00
- Grade 7: Friday May 2, 1:30- 8:00
- Grade 8: May 7 & 8, 4:00- 8:00
- Grade 9: May 6 & 9, 4:00- 8:00
Touch Football
Touch Football tryouts will start Monday April 14. With Senior team (grade 8 & 9) going on Monday April 14 and Tuesday April 15. Then Junior team tryouts (grade 7 & 8) go on Wednesday April 16 and Thursday April 17. All tryouts are afterschool from 3:00-4:30pm.
After tryouts, the football team will have regular practices every Monday and Thursday from 3:00-4:30pm.
The football tournament is scheduled for Friday June 6, at New Brighton Athletic Park during the school day and into the evening. Much like badminton if an athlete is not going to be able to commit to the Friday June 6th full day tournament, they should not take a roster spot. Hot Lunch Options
Lunch options for the week of April 14th include Avi’s, Boardwalk, Banzai and Subway. Orders can be placed HERE. Pizza-on-Demand Wednesdays continue at our Snack Shack.
