Hello Lakeshore Families,

Our bonus February weather continues, and warm temperatures always put people in a better mood. Here are the updates for the (short) week ahead:

No Classes Thursday, Friday, Monday
There are no classes for students on Thursday and Friday for Teacher’s Convention and Monday for Family Day.

Staffing Update
As messaged on Thursday, our Administrative Assistant, Allison Fife, has accepted an accelerated admin role at the Area 5 office. Allison’s insight, expertise, and skill have been invaluable in helping Lakeshore move from uncertain opening days to our established school community. Her contributions cannot be understated, and she will be missed. Allison’s last day at Lakeshore will be on February 20th.

Lottery – Wednesday
The enrolment lottery will take place on Wednesday, February 11, with letters indicating acceptance to Lakeshore or overflow to Nicke School following shortly after. There is no action for students currently enrolled at Lakeshore. If you are looking at moving out of the Auburn Bay / Mahogany area and/or to a new school for the 2026-2027 school year, please email lakeshore@cbe.ab.ca.

Sweet Caroline’s Donut Day - Wednesday
On Wednesday, we will be bringing in Sweet Caroline’s donuts for on-demand purchase. Donuts will be sold for $3, cash or tap while supplies last.

School Council Meeting – February 18
Please plan to join our School Council for the next meeting on Wednesday, February 18 starting at 6:00 PM in our Lakeshore Learning Commons. All parents are welcome. Meeting times are about 45-60 minutes and you can choose to participate of just listen.

Bears Athletics
Volleyball
Congratulations to our Junior Girls Volleyball team for a dramatic come-from-behind win at the West Ridge Raptors tournament this weekend. The girls showed great resilience and energy in bringing home the championship.

Pink Shirt Day – February 25
Students will be encouraged to wear Pink Shirts on February 25. For more information from the CBE about Pink Shirt Day, please visit HERE.

Excellence in Community Support
Our school was recognized by the Calgary Food Bank for our commitment to onging donations. This year, we have been able to send over 450 pounds of food to support those in need. Thank you Lakeshore!

Hot Lunch Options
Selections for the week of February 17 include Edo, Boardwalk, and Opa. Place your orders HERE. Restaurants have been updated through the end of the school year so orders can be placed in advance.
