Hello Lakeshore Families,
We are getting ready to turn the school calendar to our second semester. Thanks to everyone who came out to our winter band concert last Thursday – the musicians were incredible! Here are the updates your need for the week ahead:
Acting Assistant Principal
Retired CBE Principal, Mike Jones, will be assisting Lakeshore over the next few weeks as Acting Assistant Principal. It is anticipated that Mr. Jones will be at Lakeshore until February 11.
Semester 2 Begins Wednesday
Students in grades 7-9 will begin their second semester complementary course options on Wednesday. Please note, there are no course changes permitted.
No Classes Friday, January 30
Friday, January 30 is a CBE system-wide professional day and there are no classes for students.
Mahogany Middle School Open House – Tuesday
The initial information meeting to discuss the Mahogany Middle School will take place on Tuesday at 6:00 PM at Lakeshore. All interested families and community members are welcome to attend.
Bears Athletics
Volleyball
Fees for Junior and Senior teams have been added to PowerSchool. These fees need to be paid by the end of the week. For athletes ordering the optional warm up shirt, this fee is also visible under the "School based optional fee" tab. This fee is only visible until Thursday and only players with the shirt prepaid will have one ordered for them.
Grade 6 Volleyball Club will start this week for any interested Grade 6 student. This will take place on Thursday after school from 2:40-4:00 PM. Please make sure an Annual Athletics Authorization Form has been completed and returned to the PE office.
Home games! Our Junior Boys Team kick off their season at home this Tuesday at 4:30pm. The Senior Girls and Boys play at home on Thursday 4:30 and 5:30. Lakeshore students are welcome to stay and watch each team's first game and cheer them on. Lakeshore students are not permitted to travel to other schools as spectators without parent supervision.
Bingo Volunteers Needed
Bingo is also a great, smoke-free environment to connect with other school parents. No volunteer clearance is required - participants just need to be 18+. Volunteer benefits include: Free supper, Free VIP reserved seating for band concerts, Entry into a free draw for VIP drama production tickets. We have two more dates to fill (sign up linked with date): March 29, 2026 - 10:30 AM – 3:45 PM, May 31, 2026 10:30 AM – 3:45 PM.
