Hello Lakeshore Families,

Hopefully everyone has had a great weekend. The school and community is getting ready for our Bear Feast Festival on Thursday, and we are hoping to see many of you there. Here are your updates for the week:

Bear Feast Festival - Thursday

This is the week and Thursday is the day for our Bear Feast Festival. Our School Council is looking forward to hosting everyone – students, parents, family, friends and community members from 3-7 PM at the school. There will be Food Trucks (who wants to make dinner that night anyhow?), a live DJ, yard games, prizes and a bucket dunk challenges where you can soak some staff members and students. The event is open house style so come by when you can and stay as long as you’re able. We look forward to seeing you there, and thanks to our amazing School Council for all the planning!

Bears Athletics

Last week was a big week for Lakeshore Bears Athletics!

On Thursday our 130 track athletes competed against 5 other schools. In the following events we placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd, completely sweeping the podium: Jr. Girls 100m, Jr. Varsity girls 1200m, Jr. Varsity girls shot put, Jr Varsity boys 100m, Jr Varsity boys 300m, and Jr. Varsity boys 1200m.

We also won 7/12 of the relay races. Lakeshore earned 11/15 track titles including overall girls, overall boys and grand aggregate. More details are posted on the @Lakeshoreathletics Instagram page. Huge thank you to the parents who volunteered and all the coaches who made this possible. Congratulations to all our very talented athletes, we are very proud of you. Catch some photos HERE.

Football wrapped up with a large tournament on Friday. Athletes and coaches were at the field playing for 7 hours. Many after putting everything into track the day before. Both teams played very well, earning themselves a place in the semi-finals and then winning the championship. This victory was earned, with hard work and dedication from the players and coaching staff. Check out some photos HERE.

This concludes athletics at Lakeshore for the school year. Lakeshore participated in every sport possible, provided additional opportunities through our prospect programs and carried the largest track and wrestling team in our area. Over 300 DIFFERENT students were given the opportunity to represent our school, and build a sense of belonging and community thanks to the volunteer time and energy of our teacher coaches.

Athlete parents, please make sure you have paid any remaining fees on your Power School account. Track t- shirt fees should be adjusted for athletes not needing a shirt by the end of the week.
