Hello Lakeshore Families,

June continues to cruise by and we’re looking forward to more action-packed days this week. Here are the updates you need for June 8-12:

Bear Fest - June 15
Our Bear Fest community celebration has been rebooked for Monday, June 15 starting at 2:40 PM dismissal. We hope the weather holds and that you can join in the fun.

Comps Course Showcase / Band Concert – June 18
Mark you calendar for Thursday, June 18 as we prepare to host our families for our year-end complementary course showcase and band concert. The showcase will take place from 4:30 – 6:00 PM with the Band concert scheduled for 6:00 PM (doors to open to the gym at 5:30 PM). Come and see the work of our talented students.

Bear Market – Wednesday
Our Bear Market is set for Wednesday at lunchtime with advance token sales taking place on Monday and Tuesday at lunch. Tokens are $1 and are cash only.

IPP Dates of Note
Students with Individual Program Plans will receive hard copies to bring home on Monday. Parents are asked to review the document and return the signature page by noon on our hard deadline on Friday, June 12. These can be returned in hard copy or digitally via email to mnhopkins@cbe.ab.ca.

Bears Athletics
Track and Field
The track season is officially over. There are no opportunities to do a make-up date. Thank you to all the athletes that had been attending practices and were ready to compete on Tuesday. If your grade 7-9 athlete would really like the opportunity to still compete, there is a City Jr. High Championships being run by CALTAF, a local track and field club. This is not a school sponsored event, and families need to register on their own if you are interested. Anyone can register, regardless of the fact we did not compete this year. Information for this event can be found on the registration page HERE.

Football

The football tournament was postponed last Friday, and we are hopeful it can run on Friday June 12. Players, please watch for emails coming early next week confirm the new schedule and potential practices next week.

Library Books Due
All Lakeshore library books were due on Friday and are now overdue. Students will be issued reminders, and all unreturned books will be invoiced.

Yearbooks
The 2025-2026 Lakeshore yearbook will be distributed on the last week of school starting on Wednesday, June 24.

Bear Awards
Congratulations to our May award recipients for Ambition. These students received their awards on Friday and are acknowledged on our school Instagram page.

Hot Lunch Options
We know you’re getting sick of making lunches. Options for the week of June 15 include Subway, Edo, Chick fil A, and Canadian Brewhouse. Place your orders HERE.

Have a wonderful week!

Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
