We are looking forward to a fun-filled week with parent conferences and our spring fling dance. Here are your updates for the week ahead:
Parent Conferences – Thursday and Friday
Conference bookings went live on Friday, March 15 and will remain open until Wednesday. Thursday evening conferences will be in-person meetings. Friday conferences will default to online meetings, but you are welcome to email the teacher if you prefer an in-person meeting.
Spring Fling Dance – Thursday
Our Spring Fling Dance will take place on Thursday afternoon during blocks 5 and 6. The cost is free to students, but there will be concession sales. We will have alternate spaces for students who are not interested in the dance.
Next Year Complementary Course Selection
Students in Grades 6, 7 and 8 will be selecting complementary courses for the 2024-2025 school year this week at school. Please review the Complementary Course Guide with your child to assist them in making their selections.
Bears Athletics
Badminton tryouts start on the morning of Tuesday April 2. Athletes need to attend both of the first tryouts, if there is a conflict please reach out to the coaches directly. The tryouts are the same days as regular practices, athletes need to be able to commit to attending practices to be on the team.

Survey and Fees and Planning
The parent survey for feedback on fees and planning remains open. Have your voice by completing the survey (5 min) HERE.
Input on New Social Studies Curriculum
Parents are invited to provide input into Alberta’s new social studies curriculum. Information can be found HERE.
Walk and Wheel to School
Now that the weather has improved, students are encouraged to walk and bike / scooter to school. We have lots of bike lockup next to the compound / sportcourt and at the front of the school. We also have specific scooter lockups at the front of the school.
Healthy Hunger and Pizza Wednesday
Offerings via https://healthyhunger.ca for the week of April 2 – 4 include Subway, Avi’s Schwarma and Swiss Chalet. Pizza-on-Demand will continue to be available for $5 each Wednesday.
Spring Break!
Spring Break will run from March 25 to Tuesday, April 2 when classes resume. The next parent update will come on April 1.
