Hello Lakeshore Families,

Hopefully everyone is having a good weekend as we go experience “second winter”. Here are your updates to the week:

Coffee Fundraiser Ongoing

The Lakeshore School Council Fundraising Association coffee fundraiser continues. We are working toward our goal of selling on bag for each Lakeshore student and we are 10% of the way there. Top student sellers will receive a $25 gift card to SouthCentre. Sales are available online through the website: https://fundabl.azurewebsites.net/organization/lake. Thank you for your support.

March Conferences

Save the date for the next round of conferences which will take place on Thursday, March 21 (evening) and Friday, March 22 (morning). Thursday conferences will be in-person and Friday conferences will be online or in-person. Booking details to come.

PE Intramurals

With the snowy and ever-changing weather, the PE team invites all interested to daily badminton intramurals at lunchtime. The rotation is Monday – Grade 8/9, Tuesday – All Girls, Wednesday – Grade 7 and, Thursday – Grade 6.

Bears Athletics

Lakeshore Wins Developmental Volleyball Tourney – Lakeshore hosted the first developmental volleyball tournament this past Friday, with teams from Dr. George Stanley and Samuel Shaw schools joining. The Bears emerged victorious after a tight, tough overtime set. Thanks to all athletes, coaches and parents for a wonderful event.

Lakeshore retains Auburn Bay Cup – the recent Auburn Bay Cup matches took place last week with volleyball matches between Lakeshore and Prince of Peace. The Cup was decided in the final set and all matches were closely contested and demonstrated excellent athleticism and sportsmanship.

Volleyball Fees Due – If your child is playing on one of the Bears volleyball teams (including prospect teams), team fees are now due. Fees can be paid online via your MyCBE account or at the office.

Pizza Wednesdays

Pizza slices-on-demand are back for Wednesdays in the Snack Shack. Students are welcome to purchase lunch for $5. This will likely continue on Wednesdays going forward.

Healthy Hunger

Offerings for the week of March 11 include Taco Time, Edo, Spolumbos and A+W. Orders can be placed at https://healthyhunger.ca/

Have a wonderful week!

Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
