Hello Lakeshore Families,
“Spring forward”, doesn’t seem so exciting when accompanied by a snowstorm! Hopefully everyone is having a good weekend. Here are the updates you need for the week ahead:
Conference Bookings Live March 12
We will be hosting parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20. Thursday afternoon / evening times will be in-person with Friday set for online bookings. Bookings are made online using your MyCBE account which will go live on March 12 starting at 8:00 AM. Bookings for core teacher dyads will be prioritized for students in these homerooms.
Please join our Physical Education and Complementary Courses team members by making separate bookings with them. Ms. Nimmo and Ms. Hopkins from our Student Services team are also available to meet.
Complementary Course Selections
Students in Grades 6-8 are preparing to select their complementary courses for 2026-2027 and this will be done at school during the week of March 16. A course guide with descriptions and fee projections will come your way this week to discuss selection with your child. Students will have 4 courses on their schedule and they will select 5. These discussions and decisions are important as we do not permit complementary course changes.
Struggles with Screen Time?
Almost half of our students have self-reported trouble in making healthy choices when it comes to managing screen time. We also know many parents have questions about how to support. You’re not alone. Save the date for April 15 at 6:30 PM where the team from Creative Sky Psychology will visit Lakeshore families to discuss strategies and answer questions. This is a free event, but if you are interested in attending, please RSVP to Ms. Nimmo at sknimmo@cbe.ab.ca so we can track numbers.
