The Victoria Day Long Weekend is always a favourite, and hopefully everyone had a good time. It was great to get the weekend started by welcoming our new families to Lakeshore last Thursday evening during for our orientation Open House. Here are your updates for the week ahead:
School Council Meeting AGM – Wednesday
The Annual General Meeting of our School Council will take place on Wednesday at 6:00 PM at the school. During the meeting the Council will be selecting executive members for vacant positions for the next school year. All current and incoming Lakeshore parents are invited to attend.
Lakeshore Presents – Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.
Tickets for our annual production are almost sold out. Please secure yours today with instructions HERE. If you would like a chance at the best seats in the house, all you have to do is volunteer for an upcoming Bingo. Meat Fundraiser Continues

Bear Feast Fest – Thursday, June 12
Our second annual Bear Feast Fest will take place on Thursday, June 12 from 3-7 PM at Lakeshore. This is a picnic with food trucks, a live DJ, and fun games. There will also be raffle for over $3200 in prizes including a Meta Quest 3s VR package. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us.

Parents are encouraged to go on their MyCBE account to check and pay outstanding fee balances.
Bears Athletics
Badminton
The badminton season is officially over following the grade 6 badminton tournament last week. Congratulations go out to: Weston & Cooper- boys doubles finals, Mason & Sawyer- boys doubles finals, Soleil & Sensa- girls doubles finals, Crew & Halle- mixed doubles finals, Elle- girls singles finals, Jiyou- boys singles finals. The junior badminton wrap-up party will take place on Monday, June 20.
Touch Football
The Jr. and Sr. football teams will be playing an exhibition game at Lakeshore on Wednesday May 21 against McKenzie Highlands. Games will start at 4:00. Spectators are welcome and encouraged!
Track and Field
The track team will be posted at school on Wednesday morning and all successful athletes will be given an information package to take home. Grade 6 should get theirs on Tuesday. Forms are due back by Friday May 30th. The track meet is on Wednesday June 4th. If athletes are unable to participate, please communicate this to Mrs. Clark so other students can be given the opportunity. We still need 4 more parent volunteers for the track meet. If you have students on the team and have a completed volunteer clearance, your help would be appreciated. Please contact Mrs. Clark at agclark@cbe.ab.ca.
Library Book Returns
If your child has any Lakeshore library books at home, please have them return then to school ASAP.
