Hello Lakeshore Families,
Hopefully everyone had an enjoyable Fall Break. We were happy to welcome our students back on Thursday and are looking forward to a great stretch leading into December. Thank you to everyone who donated to the Poppy Fund and/or Food Bank during our Remembrance Day week. Here are your updates for the week ahead:
Weather Changing = Cold Weather Wear
Parents are encouraged to help their tween / teen remember to grab a coat and other cold weather items on their way out of the door. All of our students will be spending time outdoors each day unless the temperature is -20 (including wind chill). There are still students arriving to school in t-shirts! Help!
School Council Meeting – Wednesday
All parents are invited to attend our School Council meeting which will be held on Wednesday at 6:00 PM at the school. Ms. MacRitchie, our Learning Leader for Complementary Courses, will be presenting.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Our next round of Parent-Teacher Conferences will be on Thursday, November 28 (evening, in-person) and Friday, November 29 (morning and afternoon, in-person or online). Detailed information including booking times will be sent to parents in a separate email so watch for that.
Bears Athletics
Soccer
With the soccer season officially over, all players need to return their clean jersey to their coaches as soon as possible.
Wrestling
The wrestling season is underway. Interested participants need to be attending weekly practices. If students are interested there is still time to join, especially for students in grade 6-7. Our wrestling teams are no cut, meaning anyone that wants to join can participate. If your child is interested or needs some encouragement, please have them speak with Mr. Clowes or any PE teacher. Team packages will be sent home with participants soon with the first tournament on December 5th and 6th.
Cleaning Up? Donate Used Textiles
If you are looking for a place to donate used clothes, towels, shoes, curtains, etc. you are welcome to drop them in the blue bins in the Lakeshore parking lot.
Hot Lunch Offerings
Options for the week of November 25-28 include Canadian Brewhouse, Subway, Avi’s, and Taco Time. Orders can be placed HERE. Our Pizza-on-Demand Wednesdays also continue, and our Snack Shack has lots of affordable options for students for cash or debit payment
Enjoy your Grey Cup Sunday and have a great start to your week. Best of luck to all our Band students who are heading off on their Camp night on Monday.
Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
Principal
