Hello Lakeshore Families,

Sadly, I think real winter has officially arrived. We are looking forward to seeing everyone for conferences this week. Here are your updates:

Conferences Thursday and Friday
A conference booking email was sent early last week and hopefully you’ve had the chance to secure your time. Conferences will take place on Thursday evening and Friday morning / afternoon. On that email, it would have said that the Friday conferences are online, but parents are welcome to come for an in-person conference if preferred. Thursday conferences are in-person only. See you then!

Food Bank Donations Continue
Our November drive for Food Bank donations will continue through end-week. Please consider a donation when you come to the school for conferences.

No Classes for Students Friday
Due to conferences, there are no classes for students on Friday.

Desperate Call for Bingo Volunteers
Our School Council is trying to secure two volunteers for Saturday, November 30 from 4:30 – 9:30 PM. Dinner is provided. Grab your significant other and plan a dinner date night and help the school out at the same time. Please email lakeshoreparents.comms@gmail.com and they will take care of the details and get you signed up.

Club Information
With the change in weather, we know that many of our students are looking for alternative, indoor opportunities. Clubs are a vital part of Middle School and a key Element in how Lakeshore school supports students, well-being, and establishing a sense of community, while offering rich experiences for our kids.

Clubs are advertised for students through our Clubs Bulletin Board, in the Den, and daily on our announcement slideshow.  We will also start including club information on Instagram, stay posted.  Please see below for our current club offerings, they continue to evolve as the year goes on.

Benefits of Clubs

Bears Athletics
Grade 6 Wrestlers Needed
Our Wrestling Coaches are encouraging any Grade 6 students to come and try wrestling. This is our last “no cut” team opportunity of the season for students so we hope that some athletes will give it a shot. Practices are Monday and Wednesday after school and no experience is required. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Clowes at bdclowes@cbe.ab.ca.

Good Luck to our Basketball Teams
All of our Bears basketball teams will start playoff this week and we want to wish everyone the best as they try to bring some title banners back to Lakeshore in conclusion to their season.

That’s all the updates for now. Have a great start to your week and see you on Thursday and Friday!

Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
Principal
