Meet the Teacher Night – Thursday
Please plan to join us at Lakeshore on Thursday night from 3:30 – 6:30 PM for our Meet the Teacher night. The format is informal / open house, so stop by as your schedule allows. We look forward to seeing you!

School Council Meeting – Wednesday
Our Lakeshore School Council would like to invite parents to our first council meeting which will take place this Wednesday at 6 PM in our school Learning Commons. Come and get involved or just listen to stay informed.

String Club!
Mr. Auburn is holding an information meeting for students interested in joining the String Club on Tuesday at the second half of lunch. Students can learn to play violin, viola, cello, or double bass. This is an opportunity for top notch instruction for only the cost of instrument rental.

Lakeshore News Auditions
If your child would like to participate in the Lakeshore News as an anchor or correspondent, please have them sign up for the audition board by the Foods room and/or come to the tryouts on Tuesday after school. The Lakeshore News is a “for students by students” recorded broadcast that is shown at school each Friday.

Terry Fox Run – October 3
Mark your calendars as Lakeshore’s Terry Fox Run date which is scheduled for October 3. We will once again be taking donations both online (HERE) and via cash on run day. Terry still rocks and cancer still sucks.

Bingo Volunteers (Still) Needed
Our School Council desperately needs volunteers for our first bingo on Sept 21. For those willing to donate 1 shift of their time we will thank you with VIP seating to our band concerts as well as opportunities to win VIP seating to our drama performances. Please click on the link HERE to sign up below to reserve your spot! You can also email the council at lakeshoreparents.comms@gmail.com for more information.

Bears Athletics
Cross Country Running
The first meet of the season was a success. The second meet will be Tuesday, September 16 at North Glenmore Park. It is OK if a participant missed the first meet - they are still part of the team. There is a practice on Monday after school.

Soccer
Game Time! The soccer teams have their season openers at Lakeshore School this week - Boys on Tuesday and Girls on Wednesday. Games are on the field behind Lakeshore School toward Prince of Peace (not the field directly beside the school). Kick-off is at 4:30pm. Spectators are welcomed and encouraged. Let's cheer on our Bears in their new uniforms! Players received form packages this week and need to return them before their first game.

Basketball
Tryouts are almost complete for all our basketball teams, with the Junior girls finishing up Monday morning, 7:00am. Teams will start to follow their regular practice schedules:
- Sr. Boys - Tuesday 2:40 - 4:15pm and Thursday 7:00am
- Sr. Girls - Monday 2:40 - 4:15pm and Wednesday 7:00am
- Jr. Boys - Tuesday 7:00am and Thursday 2:40 - 4:15pm
- Jr. Girls - Monday 7:00am and Wednesday 2:40 - 4:15am

Forms and information packages will be sent home soon.

Prospect basketball will tip off this week. This is a team for students in grades 6-7. These teams will also practice twice a week and play in a tournament at the end of the season. Interested students should show up for the first practice this week, no sign up needed just completed tryout forms. Players are expected to be committed to the team, attending practices consistently. Schedules are:
- Girls - Tuesday 7:00am and Wednesday 7:00am
- Boys - Wednesday 2:40 - 4:00 and Friday 7:00am
