Hello Lakeshore Families,

Welcome to the last school week of the calendar year and the final few days before holiday break. Here are your updates for the week:

Spirit Week at Lakeshore!

Our Student Council has come up with a Spirit Week plan for this week. Students are encouraged to have a little fun. Special days include:

·      Monday, December 18 – Dress like a Lakeshore Staff Member

·      Tuesday, December 19 – Anything But a Backpack Day

·      Wednesday, December 20 – Celebrity Day

·      Thursday, December 21 – Decades Day

·      Friday, December 22 – Ugly Sweater / PJ Day

Fill-A-Sock Success!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Fill-A-Sock Holiday Campaign. Thanks to you, we were able to donate a car full of socks filled with necessary items to The Mustard Seed in support of Calgary’s less-fortunate. Way to go Lakeshore!

Hitmen Be Brave Final Reminder

Today (midnight Sunday, December 17) is the final day for grade 7 parents to pay the Be Brave fee on PowerSchool. Any students with unpaid fees by the end of the day today will not be able to join the field trip as there will be no tickets available for them. Please email Mrs. Clark (agclark@cbe.ab.ca) with any questions or concerns.

Winter Break Dates and Reminders

Students will be dismissed for Winter Break at 12:30 PM on Friday. Our return-to-school date is Monday, January 8 at 8:30 AM. If your child will be absent for any other school dates, please email lakeshore@cbe.ab.ca with your attendance notification. If there are items for a parent update there may be one on January 7, otherwise the next update to parents will be on January 14.

January School Council Date

Save the date for our next School Council meeting which will take place on Wednesday, January 17, 2023 beginning at 6:00 PM. This is in in-person meeting at the school.

Holiday Wishes

Our Lakeshore family would like to send best wishes to all Lakeshore families as we prepare for our two-week winter break. While your pre-teen / teen may tell you that they are looking forward to hanging out with friends and “sleeping in”, they are also excited to spend some time with you. No matter what your traditions or plans are over the next two weeks, we hope that you enjoy every moment and create some amazing memories.

Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
Principal
