Hello Lakeshore Families,

Happy Lunar New Year to those celebrating this weekend. Here are your updates for the (short) week ahead:

 

No Classes on Thursday, Friday, or Family Day Monday

There are no classes for students on November 15 and 16 due to Teacher’s Convention and Monday, February 19 is Family Day. Classes for students will resume on Tuesday, February 20.

 

Yearbook Deadline Approaching

The yearbook order deadline is end-February, and that date will sneak up very quickly. There were many families who missed out on a yearbook last year so we want everyone to get in on the fun. Yearbooks are $30 and available via the online link HERE. We will not be ordering extras, so get yours today!

 

It’s Spirit Week!

We are ready for some great Spirit Days at Lakeshore this week:

·      Monday, February 12 – Dress like a Senior (Citizen) Day

·      Tuesday, February 13 – Twin and Triplet Day – organize outfits with friends!

·      Wednesday, February 14 – Red vs. Pink Day – pick a colour and see who wins

 

Next School Council Meeting Wednesday, Feb. 21

All Lakeshore Families are invited to our School Council meeting on Wednesday, February 21 starting at 6:00 PM at the school.

 

New, Easier Volunteer Registration Process

Parents and guardians no longer have to come into the school office to start their volunteer application. They are now able to register to volunteer online in the SchoolEngage tab in their MyCBE account. Members of the community without a child in the system can also create a SchoolEngage account. For more information visit the volunteer page on the CBE website.

 

Donate Used Clothing and Textiles

If you’ve started your spring cleaning early and you’re looking for a place to donate used clothing or textiles (blankets, curtains, towels, shoes, etc.), please consider dropping them in the blue bins in the Lakeshore parking lot. The School Council receives fundraising dollars for these donations.

 

Healthy Hunger – Week of February 20

Offerings for the week of February 20 include Subway, Papa John’s and Boardwalk Burgers. Order today at www.healthyhunger.ca.
