Update to Parents - Week of January 22, 2024
Hello Lakeshore Families,
We are looking forward to a big week at Lakeshore as we prepare to host families for our Complementary Course Showcase and Band Concert on Thursday. Here are your updates for the week ahead:
Complementary Course Showcase and Band Concert - Thursday
The Complementary Courses Showcase and Band Concert will take place on Thursday January 25th. The Complementary Courses Showcase will be from 5:00 - 6:15 pm, and the Band Concert will be from 6:30 - 8:00pm.
The Complementary Courses Showcase is an opportunity for current Lakeshore families to visit the school and check out the Complementary Courses spaces and student work. All of the semester 1 Complementary Courses will be represented in a showcase, through either student work or pictures.
The Band Concert will take place in the main gym with doors open for seating at 6:20 PM.
Bears Athletics
Volleyball tryouts for the Junior and Senior volleyball teams have now finished. Due to the overwhelming interest in volleyball this season, the prospect program is going to look slightly different. The prospect team is going to be for grade 7 students and we will run an additional volleyball club for interested grade 6 students. Both groups will run as co-ed teams.
Grade 7 student interested in playing prospect volleyball is welcome to attend the first practice on Wednesday Jan 24, from 3:00- 4:15. This is still a team and players need to make a commitment to regularly attend practices. There will be a tournament opportunity in early March for this team to play other schools.
Grade 6 students are welcome to join the Lakeshore volleyball club. This club will meet on Monday Mornings starting on Monday Feb 5, from 7:15- 8:20 am.
Please direct any questions to Mrs. Clark: agclark@cbe.ab.ca
Additionally, if your student is involved in either volleyball or wrestling, please ensure team fees are paid in PowerSchool as soon as possible.

Thanks for the New Chromebooks!
Special thanks to our Lakeshore School Council and Fundraising Association for assisting the school with the purchase of new Chromebooks for student use. We recognized our tech deficit shortly after school opening last year and we worked with our Council to address this. Everyone who participated in any of our fundraisers over the last two years helped us to this goal.
Healthy Hunger
Hot Lunch order options for the week of January 29 include Taco Time, Edo, A+W and Saucy Bread Co. Visit www.healthyhunger.ca to order for your student.
Have a great week, and we hope to see many of you on Thursday evening.
Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
Principal
