Update to Parents - Week of November 27, 2023
Hello Lakeshore Families,
Thank you for visiting with our teachers on Thursday and Friday and we hope you enjoyed your in-person or online meeting. Here are your updates for the week:
Accessing Student Grades and Assignments Online
Your MyCBE account is connected to our PowerSchool assessment system. Each school can be different as the program is linked to scheduling and attendance. The main tip is that grades and assignments cannot be accessed easily using mobile devices so use a computer. Please check out our step-by-step guide HERE.
Final Week Veteran’s Food Bank Donations
We will collect non-perishable food items for the Veteran’s Food Bank throughout the end of the week. Please consider a donation and your child can bring their item to the bins in The Den.
Perogy Fundraiser – Orders Past Due
Orders for our Prairie Gourmet Perogy fundraiser were due on Friday. If you have outstanding paper copy orders, or would like support or information, please email lakeshoreparents.comms@cbe.ab.ca ASAP.
Report to Parents on Fees
In compliance with annual requirements, you can access our 2022-2023 Report to Parents on Fees HERE.
Athletics and PE Updates
Basketball
Congratulations to all the Lakeshore Basketball players. It was another great season with many successes and wins. Thank you to our players for all of your time and energy representing Lakeshore. We are very proud of you all. Players should be receiving information from their coaches regarding wrap-up parties in the coming weeks. Players also need to make sure to return their clean jersey ASAP. If parents have not yet paid the basketball fee, this needs to be done as well.
Wrestling
Lakeshore will be hosting our very first wrestling meet on Tuesday after school. Go Bears!
Grade 7 Be Brave Hitmen Game
A messenger was sent home to all Grade 7 families on Friday regarding the opportunity to attend the “Be Brave” Hitmen Game during school hours on February 28th. The school needs to pre-pay for these tickets and $22 has been added to each grade 7’s PowerSchool account. If students do not have this fee paid by Dec 17, they will not be able to participate. If you have any questions, please message your student’s homeroom teacher.
Holiday Support to Families
If you are a family who might benefit from a Holiday Hamper, please connect with Ms. Orr, one of our Student Services teachers, at taorr@cbe.ab.ca.
Have a wonderful week, and thanks to your ongoing support of our amazing school!
Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
Principal
