Hello Lakeshore Families,
Happy weekend to everyone, and here are your updates for the week ahead:
No Classes Monday
Monday, October 19 is a CBE system-wide professional day and there are no classes for students.
School Council Meeting – Wednesday
All parents are welcome to attend our monthly School Council meetings. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday starting at 6:00 PM at the school.
Casino Volunteers Needed
Our School Council Fundraising is still looking for a few volunteers for our casino fundraiser on November 15 and 16. Please consider joining in and receive a complementary Bears t-shirt and meal. Sign up HERE.
Halloween Dance – October 30
Our Student Council will be hosting our annual Halloween Dance on Friday, October 30 during periods 3 and 4. Costumes are encouraged and there will be alternate options for students preferring not to attend the dance.
Bears Athletics
Wrestling
Our season is underway and there is still opportunity for students in all grades to join the action. This is a no-cut team, so anyone interested is eligible to join. The Boys team practices on Mondays and Wednesdays and the Girls practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All practices run from 2:40 – 4:00 PM. All wrestlers are encouraged to ensure they have a Bears T-shirt to compete in but you can pick up one at our online store HERE.
Soccer
Our soccer teams are ready for playoff action this week! The Girls finished the regular season in first place and play their semi-final game on Tuesday with finals slated for Thursday. The Boys play their semi-final on Wednesday. All games will be on the Bears home field, and we hope to pack the sidelines so come out and support our athletes as they try to bring home championships.
Basketball
All of our Bears basketball teams are currently undefeated and continue action this week. The Boys teams are in action at home this Thursday. Game times are 4:30 for Juniors and 7:30 for Seniors. Lakeshore students are welcome to attend both home games. Lakeshore students are reminded that they are not permitted to attend any away games without a parent.
Club Offerings
Lakeshore students are encouraged to consider the following clubs:
- GSA: Meetings on Tuesdays at Lunch in Room 2315
- YoYo Club: Thursdays at Lunch in Room 1313
- Get SET Club (Homework and Workspace): Tuesday at Lunch in the Learning Commons
