Hello Lakeshore Families,
Welcome to the last week of October, and we have a fun-filled week ahead. Here are the updates you need to know:

Halloween Dance
Our Student Council is eagerly preparing for our Halloween Dance on Friday which will take place in Blocks 3 and 4. Appropriate costumes are encouraged. There will be a concession, and alternate activities will be offered to students preferring not to attend the dance.

Spirit Week!
Leading up to the Halloween Dance, our Student Council also presents Spirit Week with a different theme each day. The planned special days are:
- Monday – “Anything BUT a Backpack Day”
- Tuesday – “Dress your Grade” (Grade 6 – Baby / Toddler, Grade 7 – Teens, Grade 8 – Adults, Grade 9 – Elderly)
- Wednesday – “PJ Day”
- Thursday – “Colour Day” (Grade 6 – Red, Grade 7 – Green, Grade 8 – Blue, Grade 9 – Black)
- Friday – “Halloween Costumes”

Drop Off Reminders
The sneaky snow shocker last week necessitates another reminder that there is no waiting in the area right in front of the school. This space is for quick drop off only. If you would like your child to wait in the car for the bell, please do so in other spots near the school. Thank you.

Jacket Racket – Final Week
If you have any winter wear for donation to Jacket Racket, please have your child bring it in this week for donation. Items can be dropped in the bin in The Den. This is the final week for donations.

Picture Retakes – November 4
Our photo retake day will be Wednesday, November 4. All students who missed our photo day will have their pictures done. If you would like to ensure we have your child scheduled for a photo retake, please email lakeshore@cbe.ab.ca with “Photo Retake Request” in the subject line.

Drama Production Meetings
Lakeshore Drama is preparing for this year’s production of High School Musical. Students interested in auditioning for the Cast are asked to come to a meeting on Tuesday, November 3 at lunch. Students interested in Crew positions are invited to a meeting on Thursday, November 5. Meetings will take place at lunch.

Performing and Visual Arts Program Open House
For Grade 9 Students, the PVA Program at Central Memorial High School will be hosting their Open House on Wednesday, November 18 starting at 7:00 PM at Central.

Inquiries on Field Trip Refunds
Teachers of all subjects regularly arrange field trips and in-school presentations for students. We are always mindful of the financial ask of parents to participate in these curricular-related programs and enhancements. In planning these experiences, the fees will go toward program fees and bus costs and therefore, no refunds or credits can be offered for trips missed due to illness or unavailability.

Hot Lunch Options
Offerings for the week of November 2 include Subway, Edo, Popeyes and Mr. Pretzel. Orders can be placed HERE. As always, Pizza Day with no pre-order is on Wednesday.

Have an amazing week and thank you for making our school a great place!

Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
Principal
