Hello Lakeshore Families,
I hope you’re having a wonderful fall weekend. Here are the updates you need for the week ahead:
Annual School Surveys
Each year our school conducts surveys to gather student voice. The survey results help us plan and respond to support student success and well-being. A link to a letter outlining this year's survey along with information regarding parental consent for students to participate is available HERE.
Annual Notification Video Surveillance Systems
Our school has a video surveillance system to help maintain a safe and secure environment at the school for students, staff and the public, and to help address vandalism and criminal activity on school property. The video surveillance system is installed and reviewed in accordance with Administrative Regulation 1066. Personal information is collected under the authority of the Education Act and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), specifically section 10(1) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA). This technology can be placed in areas such as the school parking lot, building entrances and exits, stairwells, and hallways. This information is recorded and collected to help maintain a safe and secure environment in the school and on school property. The users of this information are the principal or designate and law enforcement personnel in the case of reported incidents that would require an investigation. Only authorized persons will review video surveillance information. Inquiries concerning the video surveillance system, or the collection and use of recorded information may be made by contacting the school admin.
Friday After Hours
Parents, kindly remind your middle schooler that Prince of Peace School is still in session on Friday afternoons and Lakeshore students are not permitted on their school grounds (compound, playground, field areas) until after 4:00 PM.
Bears Athletics
The Bears Team Swag Store is closing on Tuesday October 6. If your Lakeshore student was part of the Cross country, soccer or basketball teams you can order them a warmup shirt or a hoodie to proudly show they were part of the team. Hoodies are also great for the parents on the sideline to show their support!

If students participated in a minimum of one race they will be entitled to a piece of pizza and a drink. If your student athlete has dietary concerns please email kjbarva@cbe.ab.ca so accommodations can be made.

We wish bon voyage to our Grade 8 sailors who are off to the West Coast this week. Our staff members will also be making good on our Terry Fox Run incentives on Monday so a couple of us will have a lot less hair on Tuesday. The next update will come your way on Monday, October 12. Have a great week!
Kind Regards,
Ian Fero,
